EMS Extravaganza

It has been a great weekend with the kids! Both have been super agreeable and I can't even remember a time out. Maybe that is why we have the extra day off tomorrow, so we can fit in all the timeouts and whining...TBD. But, so far it has been a really nice weekend and I'm thinking tomorrow will be more of the same. Saturday was EMS Extravaganza day and Farmer's Market. Farmer's Market was the first stop, but it was too crowded. The only good thing was that there were lots of dogs for Luke to get dog kisses from. After that quick stop, we were on to EMS Extravaganza. They were showcasing fire trucks, the SWAT team, the water rescue folks, ambulances, and supposedly police (although they must have been in the new, annoyingly sneaky police cars because I never saw them). So, below are the kids making nice with the bravest community servants.

I hope this isn't the memory that shapes the direction of her life. I'd prefer she not end up a SWAT chic.

Same here, not really rooting for a fireman in the family either. A librarian maybe, or a horticulturist.

Weekend!

Happy baby. She is celebrating solid food...she is on to stars, watermelon, peaches, carrots, squash, sweet potato, crackers, and counting these days.

Another day at Friederich Park. We JUST beat the torrential downpour.

At the park. Sam gets her own spread these days, complete with toys. Have blanket, will travel.

And, of course, she swings with the best of them too!

At Friederich's she crashed. One baby can only take so much fun in a day.

He couldn't decide between continuing to play with his sticks or swinging, so here he is swinging with sticks.
Luke's new hat. How are we ever going to convince him to sit his bare butt on his new hat?

Hiding behind the cool shades and low-slung hat is a confident singer. We were hearing, "Tinkle, Tinkle, wittle star...".

Rocks. Sticks, then rocks. Rocks, then sticks.

Two babies swinging. They both thought it was a hoot that the other was swinging. And I thought it was a hoot that they thought it was a hoot.
Prepping for a morning outdoors. Sunscreen for everybody. Don't know if you can tell, but we have two very different skin-toned babies on our hands. She is dark and he is white, white.

Backyard Fun

First driving lesson.
O.K. Now, get out of my way.

Funny man.

Love this picture. He's trying not to smile. To get him to smile for a picture you tell him not too and he can't help it.

Working hard.

Cuties!

She doesn't seem the least bit bothered by the fact that she just spit up all over her clothes and our bed does she? We weren't bothered either...she's too cute to get annoyed with. She soooo wants to crawl. She can get her knees up, just not at the same time as her arms. Maybe within the week?? Not that I'm rushing it...parenting just gets harder when they are mobile.
Luke, on the other hand, seriously hates messy hands. He wants you to wash sticky or dirty hands immediately. Apparently chocolate covered faces don't fall in the same category. He looked like this all day long at Sea World last weekend because I forgot wipes! A walking advertisement for the Shamu chocolate dipped sugar cookies.
